India-US trade pact: First stage 'nearing closure'.
The first tranche of the proposed India-US bilateral trade agreement (BTA), which would aim to address the unprecedented 50% tariff slapped on Indian goods, is 'nearing closure', said a government official. 'We are engaged with the US on the BTA,' the official said, explaining that the trade pact contains multiple packages.

Bangladesh: Rice imports go up to build contingency stock.
Bangladesh ramps up rice import to build a contingency stock with the buys having soared over 8,133 per cent in value during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, statistics show. Officials say the import spree is driven by a sharp fall in international prices of the staple, particularly in neighbouring India.

India, Eurasia to meet every quarter to fast-track FTA, ease market barriers.
India and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) have agreed to meet every quarter at the regulator level to resolve market access hurdles, such as those related to certification and approval delays faced by agricultural and marine exporters, the commerce ministry said on Sunday. The decision was taken at a review meeting in Moscow, chaired by commerce secretary Rajesh Agrawal.

India-Canada Joint Statement: 2025 Ministerial Dialogue on Trade and Investment.
At the invitation of India’s Minister for Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal, the Honourable Maninder Sidhu, Canada’s Minister of Export Promotion, International Trade and Economic Development, undertook an official visit to India from 11 to 14 November 2025. Pursuant to the direction provided by the Prime Ministers of the two countries during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 meeting in Kananaskis, Canada, as well as the Foreign Ministers Joint Statement: 'Renewing momentum towards a stronger partnership' of 13th October 2025 which identified trade as the cornerstone of bilateral economic growth and resilience, the two Trade Ministers held the 7th edition of the Ministerial Dialogue on Trade and Investment (MDTI).

India, Chile to likely hold talks on proposed trade pact in December.
The next round of negotiations between India and Chile on the proposed free trade agreement is expected to be held in December, an official said. The pact with the the South American nation may help India access critical minerals, which are key inputs for electronics, auto, and solar sectors.

India’s Food Ministry favours lifting ban on wheat products export, moots 1 mt cap.
The Food Ministry has forwarded a demand of the flour millers to the Commerce Ministry to allow the export of wheat products such as atta, sooji and maida, starting with a 1 million tonnes (mt) cap. The government has banned the export of these products in 2022.

US cuts import tariffs on key agri, processed foods.
The US has exempted a wide range of agricultural and processed-food items from reciprocal tariffs, which will also apply to India, effectively reducing import duties from 50% to zero on products including coffee, tea, fruits, nuts, spices and essential oils, people with direct knowledge of the matter said, adding that these represented a small portion of the Indian exports to US that may hold potential. The Trump Administration on November 14 released a revised list—Annexure II—of goods exempted from country-specific reciprocal tariffs that were imposed in August this year. The exemptions became effective from November 13.
