Kerala gets its first integrated manufacturing & processing hub.
In a major boost to the state’s industrial ecosystem, Kerala Industries Minister P. Rajeev inaugurated Kerala’s first integrated manufacturing and processing hub, aimed at strengthening the food, nutraceuticals, and allied sectors. Spread across five acres, the facility brings together cold storage, warehousing, logistics, research & development, and manufacturing under one roof, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the state.

Piyush Goyal to make 2-day visit to UAE from Sept 18 for India-UAE trade agreement, aims to explore new opportunities.
Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, will make a 2-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 18, 2025 to co-chair the 13th India-UAE High Level Task Force on Investments (HLJTFI) and review the progress of India-UAE bilateral trade agreement. Goyal will co-chair the international investment event with Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA).

India not concerned about PHL rice import freeze.
AN INDIAN official said he was not concerned about the Philippines’ temporary ban on rice imports, saying that each country is entitled to impose measures to serve its own interests. Sudhanshu, secretary at the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said 'Every country is supposed to take care of their national food security. Accordingly, the policy decisions are taken because every country must look to its own people, protect its own industry. So, by imposing the temporary ban, I don’t think it is (of concern).'

India calls trade talks with US 'positive', says both sides to intensify efforts to achieve early conclusion of agreement.
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry on Tuesday stated that trade talks between India and the US were positive, with both sides agreeing to step up efforts for the early conclusion of a mutually beneficial trade agreement. 'Acknowledging the enduring importance of bilateral trade between India and the U.S., the discussions were positive and forward looking covering various aspects of the trade deal. It was decided to intensify efforts to achieve early conclusion of a mutually beneficial Trade Agreement,' said Ministry of Commerce and Trade in an official statement.

Senegal’s rice production growth fails to curb rising import dependence.
Official figures from the National Agency for Statistics and Demography (ANSD) indicate that domestic production has tripled since 2012, increasing from approximately 469,000 metric tons to nearly 1.5 million tons today. However, this growth is insufficient to meet national requirements, which are estimated at around 2.2 million tons annually.

Goods exports rise while imports dip, narrowing deficit in August.
Driven by electronics, engineering goods and gems and jewellery, India's goods exports rose 6.7% from a year earlier to $35.1 billion in August despite global uncertainties. Along with a fall in imports, this aided the merchandise trade deficit to narrow to $26.5 billion.

India, US eye quick trade deal as negotiations resume amid tariff tensions.
India and the US agreed to intensify efforts to quickly reach a mutually-beneficial trade deal, two people aware of the development said, as the two nations acknowledged the enduring importance of trade ties between them. In a day-long discussions on Tuesday between the American trade team led by chief negotiator Brendan Lynch and Indian officials headed by Rajesh Agarwal, special secretary in the department of commerce, both sides agreed to move the negotiation process from where it had stalled, with the objective of quickly reaching a bilateral trade agreement (BTA).
