India Rice Exports to Rise 10% in FY26: APEDA Chairman.
India's rice exports in volume terms is likely to rise more than 10 per cent during this fiscal on better demand from overseas markets, APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev said on Thursday. In the 2024-25 fiscal, India exported 20.1 million tonnes of rice valued at USD 12.95 billion, reaching more than 172 countries.

India bets on quality with digital crop traceability system: APEDA official.
Quality is taking center stage in India's agricultural export strategy, with the country becoming the first in the world to launch a web-based organic crop traceability system aimed at ensuring transparency, authenticity, and global confidence in Indian produce, Tarun Bajaj, Director, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) said on Friday. 'We've built a digital framework that tracks the journey of farm produce right from the soil to the shipment,' said Bajaj, on the sidelines of the two-day Bharat International Rice Conference held in New Delhi.

Telangana expands rice exports to Philippines, eyes African markets.
Telangana, India's largest rice-producing state, is now expanding its rice exports beyond traditional buyers. 'This is the first time the state's civil supplies corporation has exported rice to the Philippines. It's the MTU 1010 variety, long grain sticky rice, which is liked there,' said S Mohanty, Advisor to the Telangana Government, speaking to ANI at the sidelines of the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) exhibition.

Govt capital support to food processing boosts growth & innovation in ice cream.
The Union Government investments like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, subsidies and capital support from schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) are aiding large and micro-enterprises to upgrade or build new processing units. Mauritius wants long-term rice supply agreement with India for its food security.
Mauritius, which imports 50,000-60,000 tonnes of rice annually, is keen to have a long-term agreement with India to secure rice supply as it buys through open tender and such an agreement will help Indian exporters to bid there, irrespective of any restriction on shipment. 'India has a traditional ally. We already have a long-term relationship in many things. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mauritius, some agreements were signed. But so far, there is no agreement on rice supply,' said Takesh Luckho, chairman of State Trading Corporation of Mauritius.

India's coffee exports hit $1.8 billion in FY25, continues four-year growth streak.
India's coffee exports have continued their strong upward trajectory, maintaining their billion-dollar streak for the fourth consecutive financial year, according to the Department of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. During the financial year 2024-25, India's coffee exports reached $1.80 billion, marking a 40.2 per cent growth over the $1.28 billion achieved in FY 2023-24, the department said in a X post, attached with it an infographic.

India should continue trade negotiations with US, fasten FTA talks: EAC-PM chairman Dev.
India should diversify exports to other countries, fasten free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations and also continue dialogues with Washington to conclude the proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) with the US, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) Chairman S Mahendra Dev said on Friday. Addressing 'First ISID@40 Distinguished Person Lecture', Dev said despite protection policies and reduction in international trade, there are a lot of opportunities for India to increase its share in world merchandise trade.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has referred to the 'progress' his country has made with India as he stressed that Canada is building partnerships abroad amid tariff pressures with the US.
