New Zealand: Government kick-starts trade negotiations with India.
Trade Minister Todd McClay says a government delegation has landed in New Delhi to kick-start free trade negotiations. Following significant remote engagement over the past month, the first in-person round of negotiations towards a comprehensive India-New Zealand free trade agreement will take place in India this week.

CM Dhami and Union Minister Shivraj Chouhan review agriculture, rural schemes in Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a key meeting on Monday to review the implementation of various Central government schemes under the Agriculture and Rural Development Departments in the state. Chief Minister Dhami welcomed the Union Minister to the state and expressed his gratitude for the Centre's continued support towards strengthening the agriculture and rural sectors in Uttarakhand.

FCI wheat procurement exceeds last year’s buy of 26.6 million tonnes.
The government’s wheat procurement through the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for buffer stocks has crossed last year’s purchase of 26.6 million tonnes (mt) and reached 27.36 mt as of May 4. The Centre purchased 23.13 mt of wheat in the corresponding period a year ago. The Agriculture Ministry has estimated a record production of 115.43 mt of wheat for the 2024-25 crop year (July-June).

US President Donald Trump said his administration might reach trade deals with some countries as early as this week, raising hopes for nations looking to avoid higher US import tariffs. Mangoes of Konkan exported abroad from Mopa’s cargo hub.
The creation of an air cargo logistics hub at the Manohar International Airport has kickstarted the export of mangoes from the Konkan region. The season’s first shipment, containing 3,368kg of Alphonso mangoes, was sent to Sharjah on an Air Arabia flight. A total of 600 tonnes of mangoes are expected to be exported to Europe and the UAE in the coming months, said GMR Goa International Airport Limited (GGIAL) officials.

India and EU reaffirm Commitment to Conclude Ambitious FTA by the End of 2025, Deepen Strategic Trade Ties.
Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry of India, and Mr. Maroš Šefčovič, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, engaged in a forward-looking and substantive dialogue to address global trade challenges and reaffirm their shared resolve to conclude the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) by the end of 2025. This commitment builds on the strategic direction given by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and President of the European Commission, Ms. Ursula von der Leyen during the landmark visit of the EU College of Commissioners to New Delhi in February 2025.
