Indian grapes have proved to be a success in the European markets with the produce fetching premium rates there. Vilas Shinde, chairman and managing director of the Nashik-based Sahyadri Farms — the largest grapes exporters of the country — said the present rates are 20 per cent higher than the last season.

The construction of Balla land port infrastructure has been completed in the Kedara court area near the Bangladesh-India border in Chunarughat of Habiganj at a cost of about Tk 490 million. But across the border in Paharmura area of India’s Tripura state, there is no customs station. The whole area there is deserted with even no roads, according to a news released in local newspaper of Bangladesh.

For the first time, pomegranates grown in Maharashtra have been exported by sea to the United States of America (USA) with help from the Agricultural Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (Apeda).
Pomegranates grown at Sangola in Solapur district were exported from the Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board’s Vashi facility.

Padumpathar Agro Organic FPC, an FPO in Assam’s Golaghat district, exported 10 tonnes of organic ginger to Dubai on March 12, with another 10 tonnes possibly shipping next week. Facilitated by the Directorate of Horticulture of Assam government under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for Northeast Region (MOVCDNER), a central sector scheme, farmers in the districts are said to have realized a very good price for the premium ginger for the first time.

The government on Thursday imposed a minimum export price (MEP) of USD 2,000 per tonne on natural honey till December this year. The notification will be effective immediately.
 
Exports below this MEP value will not be permitted.

15 Mar, 2024 News Image Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal joins Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) Virtual Ministerial Meeting.
Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal .joined U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, along with the ministers from the other IPEF partners, in their first Ministerial meeting this year.
 
During the virtual ministerial meeting on Pillars II-IV, IPEF partners welcomed the significant progress made since the substantial conclusion of the negotiations for the proposed IPEF Clean Economy Agreement (Pillar III), the IPEF Fair Economy Agreement (Pillar IV), and Agreement on IPEF in November 2023. The IPEF partners also discussed the ongoing cooperative work ahead across the three proposed agreements.
