The July Almond Board of Australia Position Report has confirmed that improved sales into India, Vietnam, Indonesia and Spain and the return of the United Arab Emirates have all contributed to a strong month of overseas trade. The increased activity in these markets supports the ongoing strong support from the Chinese – who continue to buy the biggest share of the Australian crop – the Australian domestic market and Turkiye.

FSSAI reconstitutes Scientific Committee.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has officially reconstituted its apex Scientific Committee along with 21 specialised Scientific Panels. The apex regulator issued the formal order in this regard establishing a fresh three-year tenure for the newly appointed expert bodies, effective immediately.

सरकार ने 3 लाख रुपये तक के छोटे निर्यात माल के लिए पंजीकरण-सह-सदस्यता प्रमाणपत्र (आरसीएमसी) या पंजीकरण प्रमाणपत्र की आवश्यकता से न्यूनतम छूट प्रदान की है। इस उपाय का उद्देश्य नए और छोटे निर्यातकों के लिए अनुपालन के बोझ को कम करना और डाक, कूरियर और अन्य उभरते चैनलों के माध्यम से निर्यात को सुगम बनाना है।

नई दिल्ली के वाणिज्य भवन में वाणिज्य सचिव श्री राजेश अग्रवाल की उपस्थिति में कृषि और प्रसंस्कृत खाद्य उत्पाद निर्यात विकास प्राधिकरण (एपीडा) और इनडी इवेंट्स दुबई के बीच एक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर होने से गल्फूड 2027 में भारत की भागीदारी को बड़ा बढ़ावा मिला है। भारत गल्फूड 2027 के लिए आधिकारिक भागीदार देश के रूप में वापसी करेगा, जो साझेदारी का लगातार दूसरा साल होगा और गल्फूड 2026 में भारत की भागीदारी से बनी पहचान और व्यापार की गति को बढ़ाएगा।

Livestock product exports up 44% in April-August.
India’s exports of livestock products registered a 44 per cent growth to over $3.132 billion during April-August of the current financial year, driven by strong demand for buffalo meat and other products. In the same period last year, exports stood at $2.177 billion. As per the Commerce Ministry’s quick estimates, exports of meat, dairy and poultry products in August 2026 touched $694 million, up 37.1 per cent from $506 million in the same month last year. A category-wise break-up of the latest export figures for buffalo meat, dairy and poultry products was not available.

India’s soybean imports may touch record high 1 mt in the current season on fall in domestic supply.
India’s soyabean imports for the oil year 2025-26 ending September are likely to be at an all-time high, touching about a million tonnes, driven by a shortfall in domestic supplies. In the previous year, soyabean imports stood at a mere 0.02 lakh tonnes. With rains playing truant and weak monsoon seen impacting the current kharif 2026 crop amidst a dip in planted area, the imports are likely to be sustained in the new oil year.

Indian exporters see strong festive season orders for textiles and food products to US and Europe.
This year's festive season promises to be more buoyant than the last for Indian exporters. Textile exporters have seen a 30-40% jump in orders from the US for Christmas and New Year, while food exporters reported a 20% boost for ready-to-eat food products to Europe for Diwali. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is the most prominent market for India's festive food exports with importers and distributors in Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain reporting continued procurement activity across traditional sweets, dry fruits, savouries and convenience foods. However, high freight, container shortages and the US' Section 301 tariffs are a cause for concern, they said.

New Zealand parliament passes 'once-in-a-generation' India trade deal, cutting tariffs on most exports.
New Zealand's parliament on Wednesday passed legislation to implement a free trade agreement with India, under which tariffs on about 95% of New Zealand exports to India would be eliminated or significantly reduced. The legislation passed by a vote of 93-29, with support from the opposition Labour Party.
