Goa Boosts Farmer Welfare as Mancurad Mango Nears GI Tag Approval.
Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Friday informed the Goa Legislative Assembly that the state government is ramping up support for the agriculture and horticulture sectors through a range of subsidies and initiatives focused on mechanisation, traditional farming methods, and the promotion of indigenous crops like the Mankurad mango. Addressing the House, Dr. Sawant said the number of Kisan Credit Cards issued in Goa has doubled, giving farmers easier access to institutional credit. He added that government payouts to farmers, particularly in horticulture, have seen a steady rise, with increasing participation from locals drawn by the sector’s growing profitability.

Government asks edible oil 'producers' to furnish production, sales, import data every month.
Using the Essential Commodities Act, the Centre has instructed edible oil producers to submit monthly data on their production, imports, and sales via a new, specific portal. While this data collection is not a new concept, it was never strictly enforced before. Now, through an official Order, the food ministry is keen to ensure its mandatory implementation, according to industry sources.

Rs.8,853 Crore Grants Approved under PMKSY for 1601 Projects Across India.
Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing a Central Sector Umbrella scheme 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY)'. As on 30.06.2025, 1601 projects have been approved, with a project cost of Rs. 30,656.57 crores and approved Grants-in-aid of Rs. 8,853.38 crores.

MoFPI Approves 16 Multi-Product Food Irradiation Units to Boost Shelf Life and Reduce Wastage.
As per the data of Department of Agricultural and Farmers Welfare, the crop wise, year-wise information of the production across the country is placed at Annexure-I. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) had commissioned a study through NABARD Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. (NABCONS), namely, 'Study to determine Post harvest losses of Agri Produce in India' in 2022 with reference year 2020-22. The scope of the study was to assess post-harvest losses with respect to 54 crops/commodities selected across the country. The different stages considered for assessment of losses were harvesting, collection, grading/sorting, winnowing/cleaning, drying, packaging, transportation, storage at farm level and Godown, wholesalers, retailers, processing unit and transport at market level. The details of estimated loss of various agri-produce at different stages are placed at Annexure-II.

Exporters urged to build brands as a way around Trump tariffs.
The government is pushing exporters to build and promote homegrown brands to cope with the 25% tariff imposed by the US. It has also sought industry inputs on an employment-linked scheme for certain exports such as marine goods which now faces threat from Ecuador due to the higher tariffs.

Kharif crops sowing this season may exceed last year's level: ICRA.
Research firm ICRA said that kharif crops sowing this season may exceed the level of last year by a reasonable margin. Aided by favourable monsoon, kharif sowing has been completed on 76 per cent of the normal sown area and is up by a rise of four per cent year-on-year as of July 2025, ICRA said in its latest report.

Enhancement of Financial Assistance under National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil palm (NMEO-OP).
Under the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), financial assistance is being extended to oil palm farmers across the country, including Odisha, for various components such as planting material, maintenance/management, intercropping in oil palm fields, installation of drip irrigation systems, machinery support, and replanting of old gardens. In addition, a price assurance mechanism in the form of Viability Gap Payment (VGP) has been introduced to safeguard farmers against price fluctuations and ensure remunerative returns. A statement showing the component-wise financial assistance norms under NMEO-OP is placed at Annexure-I.

Andaman launches project to revive historic spice route and boost local cultivation.

Chhattisgarh to get APEDA regional office in Raipur for agri-exports.
The state is planning to have a regional office of the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in Raipur, a milestone for the state’s agriculture sector. 'With the regional office, farmers, producers, and exporters in the state will have access to a wide range of export-related services under one roof,' a state government spokesperson said.
