The government's wheat procurement has surpassed last year's level and reached 28.66 million tonne so far in the current 2025-26 marketing year, according to official data. The procurement is the highest since the 2022-23 marketing year, driven by projections of a record wheat output of 115.3 million tonne this year.

India, EU conclude 11th round of FTA talks, likely to agree on deal in two phases.
India and the European Union have concluded the 11th round of negotiations on their proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA), reportedly agreeing to pursue a two-stage approach to finalise the deal, an official source, quoted by news agency PTI confirmed on Sunday.'The 11th round of talks concluded on May 16,' the official said, quoted by news agency PTI.

Port restriction on import of certain goods from Bangladesh to India.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has issued a notification imposing port restrictions on the import of certain goods such as Readymade garments, processed food items etc., from Bangladesh to India. However, such said port restriction will not apply to Bangladesh goods transiting through India but destined for Nepal and Bhutan.

Andhra Pradesh aims to produce two lakh tonnes of export quality mangoes in two years.

Value-added products drive Heritage Foods profits in 2024-25.
Heritage Foods has registered its highest-ever quarterly revenues in the fourth quarter of 2024-25. It achieved Rs.1,000 crore revenue in the March quarter. Its annual revenues was also a record high. Brahmani Nara, Executive Director of Heritage Foods, said that the company registered a revenue of Rs.4,134.6 crore in the financial year 2024-25.
