Mangaluru to host ‘Kaju Centennial Summit 2025’ marking 100 years of cashew industry. The Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers’ Association (KCMA) will celebrate 100 years of cashew processing in Mangaluru by organising a three-day event – ‘Kaju Centennial Summit 2025’ – in Mangaluru from November 14-16. Terming Mangaluru as the birthplace of India’s organised cashew industry, Kalbavi Prakash Rao, Convenor of ‘Kaju Centennial Summit 2025’, said the first organised cashew factory was established in Mangaluru in 1925 by the British company Peirce Leslie India Ltd. Cargo facility at Keshod airport to boost mango exports from Gujarat. In a move set to sweeten the prospects of mango growers in Saurashtra, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is planning to develop a dedicated cargo facility at Keshod Airport to facilitate exports of Gujarat's famed Kesar mango. The facility, to be completed once the airport's expansion project concludes in 2027, is expected to open new export avenues and directly link local farmers with global markets. Technology investments are driving new hope for Kashmir’s apples. Indian apples have a distinct market rhythm right now, moving through overlapping fresh supplies from Kashmir and imported Northern Hemisphere fruit to Himachal apples, followed by Southern Hemisphere arrivals, explains Anuj P Chaurasia, Founder of Freshos Enterprise. The market first welcomes Kashmiri apples, priced between USD 0.5 and 0.8 per kg. The apples from Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir dominate the market starting from July-August through December, forming the early season supply. Imported Northern Hemisphere apples are predominantly from Iran, Turkey, Poland, Italy, and Afghanistan are also available during this period, particularly being sold in southern India. Govt allows 1.5 MT sugar exports for 2025-26, removes molasses duty. The Centre has decided to allow export of 1.5 million tonne (MT) of sugar for the 2025-26 sugar season that started from October, according to Food Minister Pralhad Joshi. The Union Food Ministry has also decided to remove 50 per cent export duty on molasses, he said in a letter dated November 7 to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. India has concluded key rounds of trade talks with Peru and Chile, as part of its effort to diversify export markets amid the escalation in US tariffs on Indian goods. The ninth round of India-Peru Trade Agreement negotiations, held in Lima, Peru, from 3 to 5 November, witnessed substantive progress across key chapters of the proposed agreement, including trade in goods and services, rules of origin, technical barriers to trade, customs procedures, dispute settlement, and critical minerals, said a ministry of commerce and industry statement on Thursday morning.
