Application invited for Setting up of multi-product Food Irradiation units.
Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, has invited proposals through Expression of Interest (EoI) dated 27.05.2025 under the Scheme for Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure (Cold Chain scheme) of PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMPADA YOJANA (PMKSY) from eligible entities (prospective entrepreneurs) across the country for setting up of multi product Food Irradiation units.

Govt allocates Rs 18,233 cr under RoDTEP scheme for exporters for 2025-26.
The government has allocated Rs 18,233 crore under the export benefit scheme RoDTEP in the current financial year for over 10,750 product categories, an official statement said on Tuesday. As of March 31, 2025, total disbursements under the RoDTEP scheme have crossed Rs 57,976.78 crore. The government also said that the benefits under the scheme for exports of goods manufactured in special economic zones and export-oriented units are restored from June 1 this year.

US-India trade pact to open new market access and energise exports: Finmin report.
A successful US-India bilateral trade agreement could flip current headwinds into tailwinds, opening up new market access and energising exports, said a report by the finance ministry on Tuesday. India and the US are likely to agree on an interim trade agreement before July 8 with New Delhi pushing for full exemption from the 26 per cent reciprocal tariff on domestic goods. The US on April 2 imposed an additional 26 per cent reciprocal tariff on Indian goods but suspended it for 90 days till July 9. However, the 10 per cent baseline tariff imposed by America remains in place.

Piyush Goyal meets exporters, urges higher FTA use; US, EU trade deals figure in discussions.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday discussed a host of issues, including ongoing trade talks with the US and EU, in a meeting with exporters and urged them to increase the utilisation of free trade agreements (FTAs), industry officials said. The minister also stated that support could be provided to exporters to deal with European Union (EU) regulations like Digital Product Passport (DPP), they said. The other issues that figured in the deliberations held by Goyal with exporters include the proposed centralised exporters portal, and ways to further boost exports of services and value-added goods.

Trade pacts, Red Sea route resumption to aid India’s FY26 exports to $1 trn: FIEO.
India’s overall goods and services exports are expected to reach $1 trillion in FY26 aided by more trade agreements with key trade partners coming into force amid Indian export consignments having gradually started moving through the Red Sea route again, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) said Tuesday. In 2024-25, India’s exports were $825 billion. FIEO President S C Ralhan said that merchandise exports will increase to $525-535 billion this fiscal from $437 billion, led by electronics, agriculture and petroleum products while services exports are seen rising to $465-475 billion from $387 billion.

Horticulture deserves better amid export hurdles and safety norms.
Horticulture has emerged as one of the key growth engines of Indian agriculture. The production of fruit, vegetables, and other horticultural crops has consistently outstripped that of food grains ever since 2011-12. This agricultural year, 2024-25 (July to June), the output of horticultural products is projected at 362 million tonnes, which is nearly 10 per cent higher than the anticipated food grain output of 331 million tonnes, though the land under horticulture is merely one-fourth of that under grain crops. Besides, annual growth in horticultural production has been around 8 per cent, against nearly 4 per cent in the case

Amrapali mangoes from Dhenkanal exported to Europe.
Around 10 metric tonnes of Amrapali mangoes from Dhenkanal were exported to European markets, including UK and Italy, last week. With over 100 women mango farmers trained on export standards, the development is poised to transform local livelihood options through global trade, official sources said."Five metric tonnes of Amrapali mangoes were shipped from Dhenkanal to England in the last three days.
