Global avocado exports are projected to surpass 3 million tonnes (mt) by 2026-27, marking a three-fold increase from 1 mt in 2012-13, according to the recently released ‘Global Avocado Update 2025’ by Rabobank. This surge is primarily driven by the expansion of shipments from the top three exporters — Mexico, Peru and Colombia — which currently account for nearly two-thirds of global exports. Another key factor is the growing number of avocado-producing nations, as more countries enter the market to tap into historically high profit margins, said David Magaña, Senior Horticulture Analyst at RaboResearch. However, rising competition is starting to pressure margins.

The state animal resources development department is looking at investment from private players for processing meat of Black Bengal goat and boost its export in global markets.State animal resources development (ARD) minister Swapan Debnath on Thursday asked stakeholders in the meat industry to invest in development of processing units to promote Black Bengal goat in international markets. He was speaking at a business conclave on animal husbandries and fisheries organised by Merchants' Chamber of Commerce.Special secretary in the ARD department Abhijit Shevale said in Purulia's Jhalda, about 300 farmers, mostly women, are farming Black Bengal goats that have a huge potential for export.

India’s coffee exports during the June quarter increased by 19 per cent in value to around $616 million, despite an 18 per cent decline in the volume, on higher prices. In the same period last year, coffee shipments’ value stood at $517 million. As per the Coffee Board’s latest data, the shipments volume during the June quarter, based on the permits issued, was 1.03 lakh tonnes, down from 1.27 lakh tonnes in the same period last year.
