No new tariffs after Bilateral Trade Agreement: India wants US assurance.
India wants an assurance from the US that no additional tariffs will be imposed by the Donald Trump administration once the bilateral trade agreement (BTA) is finalised, said people familiar with the matter. The deal is in the final stages of negotiation and both sides are hopeful of reaching accord quickly. India has sought concessions for labour-intensive sectors such as leather and textiles. 'We have put everything on the table,' said one of the persons, adding that India wants stability in tariffs once a deal is rolled out.

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, chaired a high-level review meeting on 15th June 2025 at the Tobacco Board, Guntur, to assess the progress of NICDC-led industrial nodes in Andhra Pradesh under various industrial corridors. The review focused on the development of three major nodes in the state—Krishnapatnam Industrial Area under the Chennai–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC), Orvakal Industrial Area under the Hyderabad–Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (HBIC), and Kopparthy Industrial Area under the Visakhapatnam–Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC).

India's exports show steady growth from 2010 to 2023.
India's export trajectory from 2010 to 2023 has shown a consistent and steady upward trend, reflecting the resilience and dynamism of its trade sector, an official said on Tuesday. Citing an UNCTAD report, the official said that over the period from 2010 to 2023, India has been one of the fastest-growing major economies in terms of its share of global exports, achieving a growth rate of 6.3 per cent.

New cold storage facility opened in India.

Paddy sowing so far this Kharif season is higher by 13 per cent at 4.53 lakh hectares, according to the government data. Sowing of paddy stood at 4 lakh hectares in the same period last year.

India's economy maintains growth momentum despite global uncertainties: Report.
India's economy continues to demonstrate resilience amid global uncertainties, as country's real GDP grew by 7.4 per cent in the fourth quarter of FY25, bringing full-year growth to 6.5 per cent, surpassing expectations, according to the recent report by CareEdge Economic Pathways report. The report also reflects that, although this marks a moderation from the 8.4 per cent average seen in the previous two years, the economy remains on a strong footing. Growth in FY26 is projected at 6.2 per cent.

Issuance of preferential certificates under FTAs rises, signals higher trade pact use by exporters.
The number of preferential certificates of origin issued under free trade agreements implemented so far has recorded a healthy increase, rising to 7,20,996 in 2024-25 from 6,84,724 in 2023-24, indicating greater utilisation of trade pacts by Indian exporters, according to government data. Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal said India's trade under the preferential route is growing.
