Uttar Pradesh's push towards boosting farm exports has achieved a key breakthrough, with 1,200 kg of Dussehri mangoes (400 boxes, each weighing 3 kg) airlifted to Dubai, an official statement said on Sunday. Dispatched from Lucknow's Mango Pack House to Dubai-based importer Vergro Trading LLC, the USD-2,992 consignment signals a new global opportunity for the state's mango growers, it said.

Centre has reduced the Basic Customs Duty (BCD) on crude edible oils namely crude sunflower, soybean, and palm oils. Duty has been reduced from 20% to 10% resulting in the import duty differential between crude and refined edible oils from 8.75% to 19.25%.

India is open to ease the quality control order (QCQ) framework for 'trusted partners', producing good quality products, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal has said. The minister, on a four-day visit to Switzerland and Sweden, said discussions on 90% of content were complete on India-EU FTA, with services and rules of origin negotiations slated to start from Monday. However, he said, key issue to be addressed is non-tariff barriers to make it easy to do business.

India’s rice production will likely rise to a record high in the 2025-26 season (September 2025-August 2026) even as global grains production could rise to a fresh peak of 2,375 million tonnes (mt), forecasts by international agencies say. India’s wheat crop this season has been estimated at a record high, too. According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), rice production in the 2025-26 season has been forecast at a record 151 mt (milled basis), up 1 per cent from last year, and 11 per cent from the 5-year average.
