To give the ailing agricultural sector a boost, the Chandrababu Naidu Government has proposed a novel campaign called Polam Pilustondi (the field is calling), making officials of the Agricultural Department, agricultural scientists and people’s representatives to hit the fields to understand the problems being faced by farmers and solve them there and then itself.

Officials from Bangladesh arrived on Monday (November 11, 2024) to participate in a meeting to develop infrastructure of land ports along the India-Bangladesh border.

While welcoming Mormugao Port Authority’s (MPA) emphasis on international cruise tourism, minister for industries Mauvin Godinho on Sunday said that the port should simultaneously focus on increasing the number of container berths for exports. Godinho, who was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Amazing Goa Global Business Summit 2024, said that Goa has the potential to emerge as a major logistics hub for the western region in India. 

'India should be a part of RCEP and CPTPP,' according to B V R Subrahmanyam, CEO of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog, the Indian government’s top public policy think tank and nodal agency for catalyzing economic development.

The Uttar Pradesh government, the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) and the World Bank on Friday held negotiations for the Rs 3,903 crore Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Growth and Rural Enterprise Ecosystem Strengthening project.
