India has allowed the export of 200,000 metric tons of non-basmati white rice to Malaysia through National Cooperative Exports Limited, as per a Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) notice reviewed by ET. The move comes after Malaysia's Minister for Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, expressed a desire for 'friendly ties' with India and proposed an arrangement to secure rice supplies.
