India And Bhutan Sign MoU on Technical Cooperation in Agriculture and Allied Sectors.
Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India and Mr. Thinley Namgyel, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MoAL), Royal Government of Bhutan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Thimpu to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture and allied sectors. The signing of MoU represents a significant milestone in the enduring partnership between India and Bhutan, reflecting the two countries’ shared commitment to food security, sustainable farming, and rural prosperity. It will serve as a framework for collaboration in various areas outlined in the MoU including agricultural research and innovation, livestock health and production, post-harvest management, value chain development, and the exchange of knowledge, skills, and expertise.

FM Sitharaman assures exporters of full govt support, safeguarding their interests amid US tariffs: FIEO.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday assured an exporters' delegation that the government stands firmly with them in this challenging time and is committed to addressing their concerns, while exploring every possible avenue to safeguard their interests amidst high US tariffs, FIEO said in a statement. Increasing production and reducing costs essential to make agriculture profitable: Agriculture Minister.
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Wednesday said that while India has become self-reliant in wheat and rice production, cutting farming costs and increasing production are key to making agriculture more profitable. There is a pressing need to lower input costs so that farmers can earn better incomes. Speaking at the 64th All India Wheat and Barley Research Workers' Workshop, Chouhan also emphasised increasing the production of wheat and barley.

US-India relationship ‘complicated’, but ‘at the end of the day we will come together’, says US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
On the day 50 per cent tariffs on Indian goods imported into the US took effect, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that the India-US relationship is a 'complicated' one, but added that he believed that 'at the end of the day' the two countries will 'come together'. Speaking to television news channel Fox Business, Bessent suggested that the recent unease in the relationship between New Delhi and Washington was not just due to India’s hefty purchases of Russian oil, but also the delay in the two countries reaching a trade agreement.
