During the first two days of the event, there were 4,657 B2B meetings, 154 G2G meetings, and 9,564 RBSM meetings, while the overall footfall stood at 35,784.

Russia, the world's top sunflower oil producer, aims to increase exports to India, seeking to replace Ukrainian supplies that are being redirected to Europe, the state agricultural export agency said on Friday. India is a major buyer of Russian energy, and the two countries are maintaining close ties despite pressure from the U.S. on India to curb purchases. The U.S. has imposed 50% tariffs on Indian goods, prompting India to seek alternative trading partners.

World Food India 2025, organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), concluded on a historic note with investment commitments of unprecedented scale. Over the course of the four-day event, 26 leading domestic and global companies signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth a total of ₹1,02,046.89 crore, marking one of the largest investment announcements in India’s food processing sector. These MoUs are projected to generate direct employment for over 64,000 people and create indirect opportunities for more than 10 lakh individuals, reinforcing the government’s vision of positioning India as a global hub for food processing.

The United States continues to play hardball with India over trade and tariffs as the American commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, pointedly said on Sunday: 'If you want to sell to the US consumer, right, you've got to play ball with the President of the United States.' Lutnick listed India among countries that need to 'open their markets' and 'stop taking actions that harm America' — adding to the condition that India must stop buying oil from Russia.
