Indian coffee stands out globally for its sustainability, being cultivated in conjunction with forests: Commerce Secretary.
Commerce Secretary Shri Rajesh Agrawal inaugurated the Coffee Experience Zone and Expo organized by the Coffee Board on the occasion of International Coffee Day. Speaking on the occasion, the Commerce Secretary highlighted that Indian coffee is sustainable and is grown in conjunction with forests. He noted that coffee exports from India have doubled in recent years.

India’s rabi crops’ MSPs hiked 4-10%, self sufficiency mission on pulses approved.
The Cabinet on Wednesday approved 'Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses' with an estimated investment of Rs. 11,440 crore over five years period to raise India’s production to 35 million tonnes (mt) from current about 25 mt. Also the government announced 4-10 per cent increase in the minimum support prices (MSPs) of Rabi crops such as wheat, chana (gram), mustard and masur (lentil).

India–EFTA TEPA comes into force with USD 100 billion investment objective and one million direct jobs.
The Prosperity Summit in New Delhi marked the entry into force of the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). The agreement includes an investment objective of USD 100 billion over 15 years and facilitation of creating one million direct jobs in India, while providing wider goods and services access across Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. India’s economic trajectory as the world’s fastest growing large economy towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy would create a strong foundation for prosperity.

Putin orders government to soften trade imbalance with India.
Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his anticipation for his upcoming visit to India in early December and has ordered the government to devise measures to soften the trade imbalance with India due to the heavy import of crude by New Delhi. Speaking at the international Valdai discussion forum of security and geopolitical experts from 140 countries, including India, in the Black Sea resort of Sochi in South Russia on Thursday evening, Putin underlined that Russia and India have never had any problems or tensions between them and always took actions by keeping in view their sensitivities.

APEDA Showcases India’s Agri-Food Strengths as Export Partner at World Food India 2025.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry participated as the Export Partner in the 4th edition of World Food India (WFI) 2025, held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. With 142 exhibitors and 120 stalls, APEDA’s pavilion showcased the diversity of India’s agri-food sector, including GI-tagged products, Basmati rice, millets, organic produce, livestock products, and value-added foods. The pavilion also featured dedicated thematic zones such as the GI Gallery, Fresca Zone, Basmati Export Development Foundation stall, and a BHARTI Zone focused on startups and innovation.

Union Cabinet Approves Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses for 2025-26 to 2030-31.
The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses- a landmark initiative aimed at boosting domestic production and achieving self-sufficiency (Aatmanirbharta) in pulses. The Mission will be implemented over a six-year period, from 2025-26 to 2030-31, with a financial outlay of Rs 11,440 crore.

NIFTEM-K Signs Strategic MoUs and Transfers Breakthrough Technologies to Industry Partners during WFI-2025.
National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management, Kundli (NIFTEM-K), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India, has signed nine strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with leading organizations, industry partners, and academic institutes in the food processing sector during World Food India-2025. In parallel, the Institute has successfully transferred seven innovative technologies developed by its scientists to reputed companies, further strengthening the bridge between academia and industry.

Horti exports: Hry to set up warehousing infra at Hisar airport.
In a significant move, the Haryana govt will develop state-of-the-art warehousing infrastructure at Maharaja Agrasen Airport, Hisar, aimed at ensuring seamless storage and transportation of horticultural crops. The initiative seeks to preserve quality and freshness through controlled temperatures, boost agricultural exports, and help farmers realise maximum profits from their produce. Under this initiative, the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation will set up modern cold storage and air cargo facilities at the airport premises. These facilities will enable the preservation and export of farmers' produce in line with international standards, thereby further strengthening Haryana's position as one of the country's leading states in horticultural production.
