India eyes export boost to CIS as Black Sea tensions ease, seeks lower duties from South Korea.
Amid news reports of a proposed truce between Russia and Ukraine in the ongoing conflict in the Black Sea, sources within the government have indicated that a reduction in tensions may ease the transport of Indian exports to CIS countries. Apart from Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) comprises Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Armenia, and Moldova.

India's exports are bound to grow despite global uncertainties: DGFT.
India's exports are bound to grow in the coming years despite uncertainties over global trade and tariff, a senior government official said on Wednesday. Director General of Foreign Trade Santosh Kumar Sarangi said that exporters should tread the path pragmatically and wisely to navigate the current global trade contours. He also said that the current scenario presents a 'golden' opportunity for India to do a variety of things which will propel exports and increase manufacturing competitiveness.

Afghanistan exported $500 million in goods to India despite Pakistani restrictions, official says.
Khan Jan Alokozai, a board member of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said the closure of transit routes through Pakistan had prompted Afghan exporters to seek alternative trade corridors. He noted that the majority of exports to India consisted of dried fruits — traditionally one of Afghanistan’s leading agricultural exports. 'Despite the challenges, we managed to export over $500 million in goods to India in the past year,' Alokozai said.

India seeks easier export rules as US pushes for lower tariffs.

Cambodia and India yesterday agreed to enhance the existing collaboration in technology, trade, and investment as the two nations have enjoyed decades of diplomatic relations, with ongoing progress in multiple areas of collaboration. 3rd Session of India-Uganda Joint Trade Committee held in New Delhi.
The Third Session of the India-Uganda Joint Trade Committee (JTC) was held in New Delhi on 25th-26th March 2025. The session marked a significant step in strengthening India-Uganda trade relations after a gap of 23 years. Both sides reviewed the bilateral trade and agreed that the current trade volume does not reflect the full potential of economic collaboration. They resolved to take concerted efforts to enhance, deepen, and diversify bilateral trade. Discussions were also held on the formation of an India-Uganda Joint Business Forum to facilitate increased engagement between industry leaders from both nations.

GM technology is like ‘playing with nature’, says Agri Minister.
Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday said that genetically modified technology is 'like playing with nature', even if it helps increase productivity. He also indicated that there may be a further hike in the import duty on edible oils.
