Department of Commerce, through Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) organized trade fairs, exhibitions and Millet Conclave for awareness, usage and export promotion of millets. Under the International Year of Millets 2023, a host of activities were conducted in close association with Indian Embassies/Missions and Government departments, which included millet themed participation in international trade fairs, sampling events, millet galleries, international buyer seller meets etc. Further, Millets are one of the key focus areas for enhanced branding and publicity in key global and domestic fairs, in which APEDA participates.

Apr 02, 2025 News Image India’s coffee exports surpass Govt target for 3rd year in a row.
For the third consecutive year, India’s coffee exports have exceeded government targets, driven by rising prices, global demand and growing domestic production. For FY25, India’s coffee shipments crossed $1.816 billion, registering a 46 per cent increase over previous year’s $1.286 billion. In volume terms, coffee exports were up 1.56 per cent at 3.89 lakh tonnes (lt), based on the permits issued by the Board. In fact, coffee exports have more than doubled over the past five years since 2020-21, when shipments were $735 million.

Rice-surplus Telangana, which emerged as one of the top three rice-producing States in the country, has set its eyes on export opportunities to cash in on its huge rice reserves. To start with, it has exported its maiden consignment, comprising 12,500 tonnes of rice, to the Philippines on Monday.

The scheme has a total outlay of ₹2481.00 crore (in Centre: State share - 90:10 for Hilly & North Eastern States and 60:40 for all other States). The scheme guidelines were circulated on 26th December 2024 and Annual Action Plan (AAP) of 33 States/ Union Territories (UT) have been approved till date. Since the approval of the scheme, in the Financial Year 2024-25, ₹177.78 lakhs has been released to various States/UTs as per approved AAPs.
