Jaishankar, Spanish FM discuss bilateral ties in trade, defense, urban development.
External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar held talks with Spanish Foreign Affairs Minister José Manuel Albares in Madrid yesterday. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said, he had a productive conversation on bilateral partnerships including in trade, investment, defence, security, urban development, and railways among others took place during the meeting. The Minister added that India appreciates Spain as a votary for stronger India-EU ties and a reliable Mediterranean partner.

DGFT updates export policy for every product to promote ease of doing business.
The Commerce Ministry's arm DGFT on Monday updated the export policy for all products, specifying detailed conditions for each item to enhance the ease of doing business in the country. Earlier specific policy conditions were only outlined for goods which were subject to certain restrictions or fell under some norms.

The UK government on Tuesday told Parliament that the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) talks with India have been relaunched to deliver a joint ambition of taking the bilateral relationship to 'even greater heights'. During a debate on UK economic growth in the House of Commons, British Indian Labour MP Jeevun Sandher asked Foreign Secretary David Lammy about the steps being taken to get a 'good UK-India trade deal over the line'.

India has officially opened its food and beverage sector to 100 per cent foreign investment, allowing full foreign ownership and management of such enterprises, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal announced. Philippines: Rice import volume hits 4.8 million MT in 2024.
The government revised upward the country’s total rice import volume last year to nearly 4.8 million metric tons (MT) after the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) validated the rice shipment figures. Latest BPI data showed that total rice imports in 2024 reached a record-high of 4.78 million MT, about two percent higher than its initial figure of 4.684 million MT.
