The Government of Arunachal Pradesh encourages the cultivation of horticultural produce such as kiwi, avocado, dragon fruit, and persimmon under the umbrella scheme of Atmanirbhar Bagwani Yojna, wherein all the schemes are encompassed under a bank-linked credit subsidy scheme comprising time-bound implementation and participation from various stakeholders such as government, bank, project consultants and progressive farmers.

The commerce ministry's arm APEDA has revised the NPOP's regulations to make it more farmer-friendly and help India achieve USD 2 billion exports target for organic food products by 2030, a government official said.
India's overall exports of goods and services in 2024 has estimated to cross USD 814 billion, an increase of 5.58 per cent, according to a report by economic think tank Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI). In 2023, the country's merchandise and services exports stood at USD 768.5 billion.

According to the Agriculture Department, the state has exported 22,360 tons of pomegranates in the past nine months, contributing 78% of the country’s total exports. This positions Maharashtra as the top exporter of pomegranates in India.
