Indian farming not viable as it should be, says Gadkari.

This is because farming has not turned out to be as economically viable as it should have been. He said the share of the farm sector in GDP may rise to 22 per cent if Indian agriculture manages to replace half of the fossil fuel imports, estimated at about Rs.22 lakh crore per year, with biofuel.

Amid an ongoing tariff war, it’s not all roses for India’s flower exports.
It’s not looking all rosy for India’s flower exports, as the Trump tariffs are expected to weigh on this category, aside of big-ticket export items such as steel, aluminium and auto components, a Moneycontrol analysis has shown. US was the top importer of cut flowers from India, accounting for nearly a third of India’s overall flower exports in 2024-25. Of the $18.5 million worth of flowers exported in the first 10 months of FY25, around $5.5 million headed to the American shores, with another $3.1 million going to the United Arab Emirates and $2.7 million to Malaysia. Together, the three nations have a 60 percent share in India’s exports of cut and fresh flowers.
