Indo-US trade deal in Agricultural sector.
India is actively involved in the discussions on the India-USA Bilateral Trade Agreement which aims at expanding trade and investment and deepening the U.S. - India trade relationship to promote growth that ensures fairness, national security and job creation, especially in labour intensive sector including agricultural products. The ongoing discussions are focussed on how to take an integrated approach to strengthen and deepen bilateral trade by mutually increasing market access, reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, and deepening supply chain integration.

Govt working on support measures to insulate exporters from Trump tariff: Official.
The government is working on certain support measures for exporters in sectors like textiles and chemicals to insulate them from the impact of the Trump tariff, an official said on Monday. US President Donald Trump has announced an additional 25 per cent import duty on Indian goods entering America from August 7.

Tamil Nadu: Namakkal egg exports record impressive growth.
The poultry hub of Namakkal has made remarkable progress in egg exports by surpassing its own records every passing year. Registering a significant growth, the ‘egg city’ of India exported 11.36 crore eggs till June this year. It was 6.55 crore eggs in the whole of last year.

Food Processing Boost: Over 1.45 Lakh Projects Approved Under MoFPI Schemes to Strengthen Rural Economy and Support Farmers.
In a major push to transform India’s food processing sector, Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has approved over 1.45 lakh projects under multiple schemes, with a strong focus on infrastructure development, value addition, and farmer support. Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on August 1, informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY), 1,134 projects have been approved across the country till June 30, 2025. This includes 41 Mega Food Parks and 395 Cold Chain projects.

Removal of import restrictions by a major Indian rice importer will help boost the grain's exports and reduce the impact of fresh US tariffs, Indian Rice Exporters Federation said on Monday. Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) Chairman Prem Garg said that a key international market has decided to remove its four-month ban on rice imports.

India’s palm oil imports drop 10% in July as soyoil hits 3-year high.
India's palm oil imports fell in July because of cancellations in import contracts, while soyoil shipments surged to a 3-year high due to competitive prices and the delivery of delayed shipments from June, according to five dealers. Lower palm oil imports by India, the world's biggest buyer of vegetable oils, could lead to a stock buildup in top producers Indonesia and Malaysia and weigh on benchmark Malaysian palm oil futures.

A senior Canadian leader has said the 'important conversations' around trade ties with India will be enabled by the return of High Commissioners to the capitals of the two countries. Federal Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu told the agency Canadian Press that the eventual return of top envoys will help 'to carry out those very important conversations'.
