India and Italy held discussions in the national capital to enhance collaboration in key sectors such as agriculture, defence, space, infrastructure, and transport. India-Russia trade via INSTC doubles in past year.
Trade between India and Russia using the International North South Transport Corridor (INSTC) doubled in the past year with New Delhi increasing the volume of exports as it looks to reduce its substantial large trade deficit with Moscow. INSTC connects western India with Russia through Iran. The corridor’s eastern route is considered the most convenient among all its three branches in terms of volume of goods transportation and geographical coverage.

Jaishankar to visit UK, Ireland in March; trade and economic ties top agenda.
Trade and economic cooperation and bolstering people-to-people ties will top the agenda for external affairs minister S Jaishankar’s week-long visit to the United Kingdom and Ireland next month, people familiar with the matter said. Jaishankar is set to travel to Britain and Ireland during March 3-9, days after the planned relaunch of negotiations on the India-UK free trade agreement (FTA) in New Delhi, the people said on condition of anonymity. This will also be the first high-level visit to Ireland since 2015, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to Dublin.

The India-United Arab Emirates (UAE) Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) has proven to be a significant driver of trade growth between the two countries as it completes three years since signing on Tuesday. Agriculture is Mizoram government’s prime focus: Guv.
Mizoram Governor General (Retired) Vijay Kumar Singh on Wednesday said that agriculture remains the chief focus of the state government with a mission to enhance sustainable agriculture crop productivity. Delivering his maiden address on the first day of the budget session of the state assembly, Singh said that the Fostering Climate Resilient Upland Farming System (FOCUS) project to increase the agricultural income of 55,000 households through climate resilience agriculture system is being implemented across six districts of the state.

Ministries soon to chart export promotion paths.
An inter-ministerial consultation will be held soon to finalise schemes for exporters under the export promotion mission, announced in the Budget for 2025-26, a senior official said on Monday. Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Santosh Kumar Sarangi said that after the preparation of the scheme details, the ministry will seek the approval of the Cabinet.
