Rice exports are growing at a healthy rate and the country looks to increase shipments to 26 global markets, including the Philippines, Indonesia, the UK and Mexico, APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev said on Friday. Rice exports in September rose by 33.18 per cent to USD 925 million, and during April-September by 10 per cent to USD 5.63 billion.

Chouhan emphasised that while the expansion of the KVK network is ongoing, the immediate priority is to empower existing KVKs so they can serve small and marginal farmers more effectively.

The discussions focussed on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, technology, green energy, and skilling. Shri Goyal also met Dr. Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery and Germany’s G7 & G20 Sherpa and discussed ways to further deepen the bilateral economic relationship. Exports of dehydrates potato granules and pellets reached $63.3 million in FY2025, jumping from $11.4 million in FY2022. Other potato products, such as flour, starch, chips, and ready-to-eat items, have also grown rapidly, rising to $18.8 million over the same period. Potato flour alone recorded a staggering 1,100% increase.Ajay Srivastav, founder of GTRI Ajay Srivastav said, “Nearly 80 per cent of shipments go to Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand, reflecting India’s integration into Southeast Asia’s snack and convenience-food supply chain.”
