India’s Jan-Aug coffee shipments rise 24% to $1.46 billion, tracking global price uptrend.
India’s coffee exports for the January-August period of calendar 2025 are up 24 per cent in value terms on higher per unit realisation driven by surging global prices. This is despite a 11 per cent drop in volume shipments during the period. Exports stood at $1.46 billion during January-August period s compared with $1.18 billion in the same period a year ago. In rupee terms, exports were higher by 28 per cent at ₹12,673 crore against ₹9,853.94 crore a year ago. The weakening currency aided the growth in rupee terms.

India-US discussing bilateral trade agreement, Piyush Goyal says.
India is holding talks with the US on a bilateral trade deal, Trade Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday. His statement comes just days after Washington doubled tariffs on Indian goods in response to New Delhi’s continued purchases of Russian oil. 'We are in dialogue with the US for a BTA,' Goyal said at an industry chamber event in New Delhi.

Yellow pea imports hit prices; government urges import curbs.
The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution has written to the Ministry of Commerce advising it to restrict the duty-free import of yellow peas, said a senior official with knowledge of the matter. Duty-free imports of yellow peas from countries such as Myanmar, Mozambique, Tanzania and Canada are dampening the mandi, or wholesale, prices of key pulses such as tur, urad, masoor and chana, as the commodity's landed cost is lesser than the minimum support price (MSP) and mandi prices of several other pulses.

Hope to finalise US trade pact by November, says Piyush Goyal.
Commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday expressed hope India would conclude the proposed bilateral trade agreement (BTA) with the US this fall or by November. Trade negotiations with the European Union are at an advanced stage and relations with China are 'returning to normal' as border tensions ease, the minister said.

Session at Varanasi airport to boost agri exports.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, organised a Capacity Building-cum-Brainstorming Programme at Lal Bahadur Shastri International (LBSI) Airport, Varanasi, with the objective of strengthening agricultural exports from the region.The programme was chaired by divisional commissioner S Rajalingam and saw active participation from senior officials of the Airport Authority of India, Department of Horticulture, Department of Agriculture, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), Plant Quarantine (PQ), as well as eminent scientists from institutions such as the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research (IIVR).

Odisha lemons exported to United Kingdom for first time.
Farmers in Chendipada of Odisha's Angul district have exported lemons to the United Kingdom for the first time. Around 500 acres (202 hectares) in the region are under lemon cultivation, where the crop is considered an agricultural lifeline. Until now, farmers faced difficulties due to the absence of proper marketing facilities. They sold lemons for Rs20 to Rs30 per hundred fruits (US$0.24–0.36), often below labour costs, with many fruits left to rot.

Andhra Pradesh targets Rs 30,000-crore investments in food processing, eyes 3 lakh jobs.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled an ambitious roadmap to transform the state into a global food-processing hub, setting a target of Rs 30,000 crore in investments and three lakh new jobs under the newly announced AP Food Processing Policy 4.0. Speaking at the India Food Manufacturing Summit in Visakhapatnam, Naidu said the state’s unique strengths in agriculture and aquaculture give it a natural edge. 'Andhra Pradesh contributes 15.6% of India’s fruit production and nearly 32% of seafood exports. With our multi-climatic zones and rich crop diversity, we can become a world leader in food exports,' he said.
