India hosts 10th Meeting of AITIGA Joint Committee to review ASEAN–India Trade in Goods Agreement
India hosted the 10th Meeting of the ASEAN–India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) Joint Committee and related meetings at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, from August 10 to 14, 2025. The meetings, held in a hybrid format, were co-chaired by Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, Shri Nitin Kumar Yadav, and Deputy Secretary General (Trade), Ministry of Investment, Trade & Industry, Malaysia, Ms. Mastura Ahmad Mustafa. Delegates from all ten ASEAN Member States — Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam — participated.

India requests UK to fast-track process to operationalise trade pact: Commerce Secretary
The India-UK comprehensive economic and trade agreement (CETA) was signed on July 24. It needs approval from UK Parliament for implementation.He said if in the next six months, the India-UK trade agreement gets operationalised, it will immediately provide zero duty access to Indian exports in Britain, so any disadvantage from tariff differential that the Indian exports may face in the US would get covere

The cumulative exports (merchandise & services) during April-July 2025 is estimated at US$ 277.63 Billion, as compared to US$ 263.83 Billion in April-July 2024, an estimated growth of 5.23%.
The cumulative Non-Petroleum exports in April-July 2025 valued at US$ 127.46 Billion registered an increase of 7.70% as compared to US$ 118.34 Billion in April-July 2024. Major drivers of merchandise exports growth in July 2025 include Engineering Goods, Electronic Goods, Gems & Jewelry, Drugs & Pharmaceuticals and Organic & Inorganic Chemicals Engineering Goods exports increased by 13.75% from US$ 9.17 Billion in July 2024 to US$ 10.43 Billion in July 2025.

Focus on 30 export markets to intensify amid impending slump in shipments to US
The 30 more countries identified as focus markets for export mobilisation efforts will receive more attention in the promotion activities as they already account for 30% of India’s exports and significant room exists to expand the quantity and range of products sold in those markets, a senior official said. The new 30 countries add to the 20 focus markets that take in 60% of total exports. With the expanded list of 50 focus countries, 90% of the Indian exports would be covered

India's cherry market will be entirely dependent on overseas supply
With the cherry season in Jammu and Kashmir coming to an end, demand for imported cherries in India has risen sharply, says Shivjit Zende, Founder of Gurudatt IMPEX Pvt. Ltd. "The market is now entirely dependent on overseas supply, with air shipments arriving from the United States, Turkey, and Iran. Sea-freight consignments, particularly from Iran's Mashhad region, are also supplementing volumes," he adds.

The 4th Meeting of the India–Singapore Joint Working Group on Trade & Investment (JWGTI) was hosted by India at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, on 14th August 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Special Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Shri Rajesh Agrawal and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore, Dr. Beh Swan Gin. The meeting followed the 3rd India–Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) held a day earlier.

PM Modi to roll out Rs.2,481 cr mission to boost natural farming next week.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will next week formally launch a Rs.2,481 crore programme aimed at promoting sustainable farming on 750,000 hectares of land and increasing the income of 10 million farmers, a senior government official told ET. Conceived by the Niti Aayog and run by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF) is a centrally sponsored programme. The central government is contributing Rs. 1,584 crore towards the scheme with states accounting for Rs.897 crore, the official said.

Bengaluru Airport exports record 31.5 lakh mangoes to 51 global destinations.
Kempegowda International Airport exported 921 metric tonnes of mangoes-equivalent to 31.5 lakh fruits-this season, airport officials said on Wednesday. The figure marks a 12 per cent increase over last year's exports, they added. The mangoes were sourced from Karnataka's mango belts and neighbouring regions.

Sugar trade body AISTA seeks export quota reform to boost shipments.
Sugar trade association AISTA on Wednesday requested the government to allocate export quotas only to mills willing to ship from their own facilities, saying the current system hampers exports and hurts mill profitability. The All India Sugar Trade Association (AISTA) said the existing quota system, which distributes limited export allocations to all mills based on past production, allows remote or export-reluctant mills to sell their quotas to others, leaving substantial quantities unexported.
