July marked another strong export month for US almonds. At 197.150 million pounds total shipments stood 10% higher than the 179.43 million pounds recorded in July 2024. Domestic shipments thereby declined by 6%, from 53.10 million pounds in July 2024 to 50.15 million pounds in July 2025. Exports rose by 16% from 126.3 million pounds to 147 million pounds.

India's trade negotiators will meet later this month to draw up the strategy for the next World Trade Organisation (WTO) ministerial conference and prepare for the country's eighth trade policy review (TPR) at the global watchdog next year, officials said. The commerce and industry ministry is organising a WTO retreat in New Delhi amid the global trade turmoil and a dysfunctional dispute settlement body of the WTO, they said.

As per the Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2024, the country's total milk production is 239.30 million tonnes. The percentage of total milk production contributed by cows and buffaloes is 53.12% and 43.62%, respectively.

Government of India through Spices Board is implementing the scheme 'Sustainability in Spice Sector through Progressive, Innovative and Collaborative Interventions for Export Development (SPICED)' under which various programs are undertaken to promote the export of spices including turmeric. These inter-alia include implementation of food safety and quality assurance mechanisms / certifications, postharvest quality upgradation, support for processing and value addition, organizing training 2 programme for stakeholders of turmeric aimed at quality improvement and entrepreneurship development; quality evaluation of export consignments of turmeric through quality evaluation laboratories to ensure compliance with quality specifications of importing countries and organization of Buyer Seller meets (domestic and international) to establish direct market linkage between farmers/farmer groups, exporters/processors and international buyers.

With a total project cost of Rs. 57 lakh, the promoters secured a loan of Rs. 42.75 lakh from UCO Bank at a highly subsidised interest rate of 5.5% per annum, made possible through the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF).
