India’s total exports (Merchandise and Services combined) for November 2025* is estimated at US$ 73.99 Billion, registering a positive growth of 15.52 percent vis-à-vis November 2024. Total imports (Merchandise and Services combined) for November 2025* is estimated at US$ 80.63 Billion, registering a negative growth of (-) 0.60 percent vis-à-vis November 2024

16 Dec, 2025 News Image India mostly exports expensive basmati to US, so there is no dumping: Commerce Secretary
Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal has said that there is `prima facie’ no case of dumping of rice by India in the US as the country mostly exports basmati rice which is an expensive variety.“We mainly export basmati rice to the US, which is a GI product. More than 80 per cent of our rice exports is basmati rice. We export very less non-basmati white rice. Our basmati rice export prices in the US are very high compared to general export prices. So prima facie there is no case of dumping in the US,” Agrawal said on Monday. The Commerce Secretary said that no dumping investigation had been initiated against India by the US.

Organic farming is being promoted through ParamparagatKrishiVikasYojana (PKVY) in the state of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana since 2015-16. Under PKVY, assistance of Rs. 31,500 per ha is provided over 3 years for promotion of organic farming. Out of this, assistance of Rs. 15,000 per ha is provided to farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer for on- farm /off –farm organic inputs. This financial assistance includessupport for marketing of organic produces.

The government has urged the agriculture ancillary industry to use the available incentives to strengthen the food processing supply chain. Avinash Joshi, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, said with the rising agricultural productivity, growing domestic demand and evolving consumption patterns, the industry should scale up processing, value addition and food-safety standards, otherwise farmers will forego the prosperity they deserve and consumers will miss out on choice, quality, and fairness.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) is implementing a centrally sponsored "PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme" through State / UT Governments for providing financial, technical and business support for setting up of new/ upgradation of micro food processing enterprises in the country. The loans to online proposals submitted under the scheme are sanctioned by lending banks after appraisal. Against the target of providing credit linked support to two lakhs micro food processing enterprises, loans to 1,62,744 micro food processing enterprises have been sanctioned for credit linked subsidy under the Scheme.

15 Dec, 2025 News Image Govt to extend FPO scheme for five years, address compliance and capital hurdles.
The government will extend its central scheme for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) for another five years from 2026-31, addressing gaps that have limited the scaling up of operations, Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi said on Friday. Addressing the CII FPO Summit here, Chaturvedi said the scheme, launched in February 2020 with a target of forming 10,000 FPOs, needs to be extended for the next finance commission cycle.

India's rice production in the 2025-26 crop marketing season is estimated to touch an all-time high of 152 million tonnes while production of oilseed is expected to drop to 40.3 million metric tonnes from 41.50 million metric tonnes last year, according to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
