India's alcoholic beverages exports are growing in double digits and this year are expected to log about 15-20 per cent rise, a senior government official said on Wednesday.

India’s total exports (Merchandise and Services combined) for September 2024* is estimated at USD 65.19 Billion, registering a positive growth of 3.76 percent vis-à-vis September 2023.Total imports (Merchandise and Services combined) for September 2024* is estimated at USD 71.68 Billion, registering a positive growth of 3.79 percent vis-à-vis September 2023.

China has emerged as India's top import source with USD 56.29 billion worth of inbound shipments during the April-September period of this fiscal, according to the commerce ministry data.

A trade deal with India remains a 'priority' for the UK, Business and Trade Secretary Jonathan Reynolds said during the Labour Party-led government's flagship International Investment Summit in London which coincided with the launch of a new Industrial Strategy green paper. 'The Gulf and India are the priority. I think there are clear economic and commercial reasons why we should pursue those,' Reynolds said at the Guildhall on Monday.
