India-Qatar bilateral trade can be doubled by 2030: Piyush Goyal.
The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, is on an official visit to Doha, Qatar to co-chair the meeting of the India-Qatar Joint Commission on Economic and Commercial Cooperation along with H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Thbin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar. The first day of his visit began with a floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Embassy of India in Doha, followed by the planting of a sapling under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, symbolising India's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, as per the release.

India-US in continuous dialogue for trade pact: Piyush Goyal.
India and the US are in continuous dialogue on the proposed bilateral trade agreement, and all possibilities are there to meet the November deadline for concluding the talks, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday. On the possibility of the next round of trade negotiations in a physical mode, he said that every possibility exists, but with the US government currently in shutdown mode, it remains to be seen how, where, and when the next round of talks can take place.

Indian exporter secures interim Bangladesh government's first 50,000 ton rice import tender.
A Raipur-based firm has secured the first international rice import tender of 50,000 tonnes floated directly by the interim Bangladesh government. Bagadiya Brothers Pvt Ltd of Chhattisgarh bagged the order, a senior official of the company said.

Expect India-EU trade deal by year-end: Piyush Goyal.
Amid the 14th round of trade negotiations between India and the European Union (EU) currently underway in Brussels, commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal expressed optimism that both sides would conclude a 'fair and balanced' trade agreement by December-end, while respecting each other’s sensitivities. He also announced that commerce secretary Rajesh Agrawal will travel to the EU headquarters later this week to advance the talks.

DGFT Grants Exemption for Export of Key Agricultural Commodities to Bhutan from All Export Restrictions.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry,Government of India, through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), issued Notification No. 36/2025-26 dated October 3, 2025, announcing a major exemption for the export of key agricultural commodities to Bhutan. The government has allowed the export of several essential food and farm products to Bhutan without any export restrictions.

7th meeting of India-Brazil Trade Monitoring Mechanism held in New Delhi.
India and Brazil have been strong diplomatic partners for more than 75 years now. The two countries have built a close and multifaceted relationship marked by shared democratic values and a commitment to development. During the State visit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi to Brazil in July, 2025 and meeting with the President of Brazil, H.E. Mr. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the leaders set a target to increase bilateral trade to USD 20 billion over the next five years. Brazil is the largest trading partner of India in the Latin American and Caribbean region. During the FY 2024-25, the bilateral merchandise trade stood at USD 12.19 bn.

UK PM Starmer visits India to build business ties after clinching trade deal.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer begins a two-day visit to India on Wednesday, joined by over a hundred leaders from the business, culture and university sectors in an effort to promote a recently signed trade deal. Britain and India signed a free trade agreement in July during a visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sealing a deal to cut tariffs on goods from textiles to whisky and cars, and allow more market access for businesses.

India’s expanding rice export ambitions expected to weigh on global prices.
The Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) has outlined an ambitious export target of 30 million tonnes for the new season, which begins in October, according to remarks by its president, Prem Garg, cited by Platts on September 26. While more conservative forecasts project shipments in the range of 22 to 23 million tonnes, the higher target reflects India’s record rice harvest and growing exportable surplus.
