A ship carrying a total of 10,000 metric tons of imported rice from India has arrived at Chattogram Port. The MV PHU THANH, transporting the rice under an international open tender, docked at the port, said a press release issued by the PID today. Collaboration in contemporary horticultural methods was the primary focus. The Israeli team was then invited by Rana to demonstrate the technologies that the center has been developing over the past 14 years. The minister added that since hydroponics and aeroponics utilize less land and water, we need Israel’s assistance in promoting these cutting-edge farming technologies.

Defying global headwinds and World Trade Organisation’s bleak projections, India’s exports surged to a record $820.93 billion in FY25, marking a 5.5% increase over the previous year’s $778.13 billion, the Ministry of Commerce announced on Monday. Merchandise exports edged up marginally to $437.42 billion from $437.07 billion in FY24. Merchandise imports rose 6% to $720 billion during the year. Non-petroleum exports stood out, rising by 6% to reach an all-time high of $374.08 billion, compared to $352.92 billion last year.

The government on Tuesday said India’s export of organic products jumped 35 per cent to $665.96 million (about ₹5,710 crore) during the 2024-25 fiscal from $494.80 million in the previous year due to a surge mainly in shipments of cereals, tea, spices, medicinal plants, oilseeds and processed foods. In volume terms, the growth was 41 per cent at 0.37 million tonnes (mt) from 0.26 mt.

India's merchandise exports grew 0.7% on-year to $41.97 billion in March, taking overall FY25 goods exports to $437.42 billion, 0.08% higher than FY24, data released Tuesday showed. A steeper rise in imports at 11.3% sharply widened the trade deficit in March to $21.54 billion compared to $14 billion in February.
